this, and more, will be the central theme of this newest blog on the block… this will all be about food, where to get [or eat] them, how to get there, what to look out for, and all others that you’d want the reader to know…

all food enthusiasts are invited to be a part of what we hope will be a very big family of eaters… all are invited… as long as you will be blogging only about food… it would be better if you have pictures of the food you are blogging about…

also, we are inviting all those with web design experience to help us layout this website so that we can get across to the readers our love of food… any kind of help will definitely be welcome…

so, what are you waiting for? how to get an Authorship account? simply email your intentions to join, your favorite food, and a little something about yourself to chris DOT haravata AT gmail DOT com and i will do the rest… got it?? :)

History …by ApplesH

I have always loved to eat. When I was younger, I was taught how to cook by my dad. He would always ask me to watch while he cooked and often brought me with him when he went to the market. Although it entailed waking up very early in the morning (which I hated at that time), I can now appreciate the important lessons I have learned. After being able to appreciate how great dishes are made, my love affair with food was sealed. It was fortunate that I formed close friendships with people who enjoy the same activity – eating. My friends and I would read newspapers to get first dibs on new restaurants around the metro. We would then make plans to try each one. We made fridays our lunch-out day. Each friday would find us in a different place. It came so that our other friends heard about our vast knowledge of food and restos that we were often asked what the newest place in town was, where to go to get delicious dishes or buffets or yummy desserts.

My husband wasn’t an avid eater when I met him. He ate only because he needed it to live. He settled on canned beans and canteen food to nourish his very thin body. I boast on the fact that I taught him how to appreciate the smell of bread, the taste of mouthwatering desserts, the deliciousness of his favorite pasta. Now, it has become our shared joy to visit different places and discover what each has to offer.

And because we blog about everything else, why not blog about one of the things we both love. So Kubiertos was born.

We initially thought to have it a sort of shared food website by inviting other enthusiasts to contribute. It did not fly and we were challenged to find individuals who shared the same passion we have. If we ever came across them, they would have their own blogs or websites already. So this is why I needed to change the “About” on this site. Its no longer applicable and I realize has not been edited in quite a while.

Due to the recent buzz about MCM, I would like to update the About on this blog to provide full disclosure to the numerous readers who have come to regularly visit and read my work. I truly appreciate your readership and implore you to come back for more.

Important information that readers must know – ALL content on this site is original and the owner’s own, including the experience and the opinion on the food, restaurant or service. ALL photos were taken by my trusty point and shoot or my hubby’s DSLR. If I happen to borrow a photo, I make sure to provide the appropriate credits to the owner. Most of the places we visit are from numerous dates, lunch outs or company dinners that I or my husband attend. There may be some places that are featured based on the event that I or my husband have been invited to attend or a place we have been asked to visit but we accept on the basis that we already love the food or the place that is being featured.

Recently, I have been asked to go in front of a camera to share my views on food but I now realize I am not ready to become a participant to a reality tv show featuring me as a food blogger. If the segment will feature my blog or my writing then I may think about it, otherwise I cannot accept.

I have also experienced that many disagree with my comments on some restaurants or dishes that I have tried. That is fine. I do not like Mexican food or Indian food but I do not condemn anyone else who do love it. I am just here to share what I have eaten and where I have been and hopefully get other ideas from those who leave comments on this blog.

Ciao friends! :)
