Sisa’s Dementia at Pia Y Damaso
A dessert with such a name can only elicit curiosity and interest in me. It may sound like something that would drive you crazy but I was definitely game to try it. I chanced upon the dessert when I was researching for my article for Table For Three Please.
Even if I enjoyed the main course, I still had a lot of room for dessert (there’s always room for dessert). I knew that my first choice would be something made with chocolate so I automatically zoned in on Sisa’s Dementia. Of course, there was always the Ibarra’s Kiss, a chocolate torte that looked appealing as well. For some reason, Sisa called out to me more than Ibarra so that became my dessert.
Sisa’s Dementia is a truffle cake with white chocolate almond pastille, dark chocolate mousse and ganache. Uhhmm, rolls right on your tongue eh? I felt like a child being presented with a birthday cake when the plate was laid down in front of me. In fact, I was too excited that I thought then that what I was getting was perfect! Until I saw what perfect looked like. Regardless, I enjoyed my piece of soft, velvety dark chocolate mousse that fills your mouth with such intense flavor. Unlike most desserts this will not make you cringe or reach out for your toothbrush immediately. You could even finish a whole slice by yourself! As for me I had to share, tsk tsk. (Hehe).
I found that some people don’t fancy this dessert and much prefer the others on the menu. But I am a certified chocolate lover and this will be up there in my book of favorite desserts. Licking lips now.
