Joey Pepperoni

Being “Italian food” lovers, my husband and I couldnt resist the call of pizza and pasta.

We have been passing by Joey Pepperoni for a long time but have not had a chance to stop by and try it. I am glad we finally did.

Joey Pepperoni’s interiors are classy in a soft, romantic cafe sort of way. Since we ordered take-out, we really were not able to enjoy the ambience that the place offered.

The smells that emanated from the takeout box were so yummy that even while it was sitting on the backseat, I was already tempted to open and get a slice of pizza before we even got home.

I had to wait as sweetie just wouldnt allow me the early pleasure – just because he was driving and will be left out. LOL.

We had ordered a 12-inch Pepperoni Pizza, the house specialty. It looked great, it smelled delicious, and it definitely tasted oh-so-very good! The crust was crunchy thin. The pepperoni used was obviously cut out of the long version instead of those frozen ones that you get in the grocery. The cheese salty and tangy and perfect!

I cant wait to try out their other dishes like the bolognese or tomato cream pasta and their quattro formaggi pizza. And because they offer great food for a reasonable price, I can eat there any day, everyday.

    Hi there! I’ve tried Joey Pepperoni and wasn’t too happy with the pizza. The serving shared with us was so small kasi! But I’ll reconsider going back after reading this. :)

    @Toni
    - Ye, ChrisH is right. You might have ordered the 8″. We ordered the 16″ and he sort of finished it all in one sitting! :D

    my wife wanted to try eating there but we have not yet gotten the opportunity. maybe tomorrow if she will be adamant in getting me to drive her to makati to vote.

    ciao!

    [...] 2. my own Kubiertos — this may be a shameless plug, but i believe that this blog i co-author with my wife Apples is the up and coming source of restaurants and food people may want to try… started November 2006 and currently at PR4, Kubiertos gives thumbs up to those who deserve them, and thumbs downs for those who don’t… and we can’t say that nothing’s personal when we do our rating, because this is all personal… of course we also accept paid reviews, but if we feel that we cannot give a positive review, we say so… if you want a no-nonsense food review blog, Kubiertos is what you’re looking for… [...]

    @Erin
    - haha. yep try passing by when you can. :)

  7. |

    nah, we didnt get to eat there. we ate some puregold chicken in my sis-in-law’s house then went to watch spiderman 3 then moved to mc home depot in ortigas to look for some tiles for the garage we have contracted to be built.

    then after that we went to eat at san jacinto panciteria in ugong (in front of SM hypermart). i cant say the food was stellar but the serving size was good. :)

    joey pepperoni lives for another day. :)

    ciao!

    @Erin
    - Wow you had quite a day. I was at San Jacinto yesterday to buy something to bring to my parent’s house for mother’s day. What did you eat? Their noodles are usually good.

  9. |

    we ordered wanton soup, san jacinto chow mein and bolabola siopao. the wanton is a bit bland for my taste, and the leafy vegetables in the chow mein is bitter to my taste.

    we were there at around 5-6pm, then my wife went to the bakery to buy some “goodies”. :)

    ciao!

    @Erin
    - Dont you just love the bakery? It used to just be a glass counter outside the doors… :D

    The service was not great. We wasted 50 minutes waiting for the 2 glasses of water and the bill we requested after deciding to leave the place.

    Won’t go back.

  18. |

    Fernn – Hmm, I heard something similar about the Joey Pepperoni branch in Makati. That’s unfortunate since they offer good food at a cheap price.

  19. |

    They should also focus in giving good service not just good food. They come hand in hand.

    I won’t go back for a bad service. =(

  20. |

    Fernn – I agree. And if I had the same experience I will react the same way.

  21. |

    i tried joey pepperoni and the food selection there is really great…
    i have tried their pepperoni pizza and their carbonara, they were really yummy..
    and another plus point, the price is pocket-friendly!

    you guys should try it out…

    they opened a new one in lp leviste salcedo village… they have wi-fi there, well, according to a friend of mine.. haha.. =)

  22. |

    eric – I totally agree with you about the pepperoni pizza and the price being pocket friendly. Would you know if the wi-fi access is free? Hehe.

    is it true that Joey Pepperoni has pasta buffet for this month? My husband and I plan to drop by next weekend cuz we’re such pasta lovers too. How much ba if it’s true nga?

  24. |

    Carla – Joey Pepperoni indeed has pasta buffet but it was an offer they had since last year. It costs P89 (cheap huh?). I know that the one in Pioneer has it but have not passed there in a while so I am not sure if they still have it. I also have not had the opportunity to try it but if they serve the same pasta I have tried then it must be good.

  25. |

    They have the pasta buffet for 145 at selected branches only. You can choose among carbonara, pesto and pomodoro. Ain’t a bad deal, eh?

    Try their luka pizza, friggin’ good.

  26. |

    yas – Its P145 already? Haha. I must have been cross-eyed as I saw P89 instead. :) Thanks for clearing that up.

  27. |

    We must have been unlucky we went to the new store in Southmall and had I think th eworst service I have had in a restauarnt in the Philippines in 15 years. It certainly leaves a taste in your mouth never to try it again

  28. |

    Kevin – Sorry to hear that. Its really too bad when even good service is lacking as most of the time, the taste of the food does not compensate for it. Tsk tsk.

  29. |

    hi. four cheeses are great!! also their bolognese.. tapos they also give you a shaker wid parmesan cheese.. kaya.. super taktak me nung cheese.. it blends very well with the pasta… it’s worth the taste… visit JOEY PEPPERONI PIZZERIA at Level 4 Robinson’s Place MAnila… bait din staff nila!

    cookie spirit – Good to hear that there is one branch that has good service. Thanks for sharing!

    this is my first food blog ever. dunno where to begin but here goes…

    i miss JP… i used to go to their abs-cbn branch coz its near our place and i know one of their chefs. they also gave us 30% discount on F&B last year. food is ok, value for money. pizza and pasta is relatively cheap if you’d compare it to italliannis, etc.

    i love their salsiccia al grijlla and gamberi spaghetti. they also serve imported beer and the usual local brew by san miguel. pizza and beer? how could you go wrong eh?

  32. |

    Junnie – Not sure by what you meant about this being your first blog ever (maybe first blog comment?). Whatever it is though, I hope I make your experience a great one. ;) Thanks for sharing your JP experience with the abs-cbn branch. I think it is different based on what branch you visit and judging by the other comments, not all branches are worth visiting.

    hi every1!
    last jun15 was the 1st time we tried JP, it was my son’s bday and he loves pizza so much so he requested a whole good pizza for himself and a skateboard in SM. there was no skateboard in SM Sta. Rosa so we went to Southmall, parked at the quantum-JP wing/side kaya it was really just an accident to have seen JP. it was 50% off lang nmn hehe. we tired 1 small pizza at 1st ala eh MASARAP! very crusty and really italian-taste, not the typical THICK CRUST and OILY pizzas iv tried….. kaya ung request ng anak ko na 1 pizza lang e d naging bonggang bonggang 10 boxes he brought 3 to school to share with friends. will be back for sure, malayo lang smin e kung malapit lang mas madalas ang punta sana! cheers! —— and oh, the staffs? GREAT! place? i salute how they manage to keep the ambiance cool kahit maliit, the lighting is great, too! or i could be too mababaw lang cguro bwahaha basta, overall — Thumbs up!
    btw, nice blog! you give me great ideas! thanks to the 2 of u!
